Notes:-Got a bit more serious today, but more of an adventure. We got down to Elgol to get the Bella Jane into loch corrousk. Boat had a fault so we went in on a faster rib inflatable, much quicker. Plan was to walk around the loch and take the sligahan path to camasunary bay, then the cliff path to Elgol. The loch path was none existent so we followed it round until we hit the entrance to the valley with the path out to sligahan. Due to the hard conditions under foot we decided to continue the loch circuit and head towards bad step. Saw some very tame deer on the way. Bad step was just above a cove where we saw a couple traversing a steep path down the cliff side. The guy said you can follow the high path he had just come down and avoid bad step or take the lower path and traverse it. Harry and I gingerly picked our way across bad step with encouragement from the chap on the Bella Jane boat and onlookers. Mark and Tom took the high path. We then headed around the coast to camasunary bay. Needed to wade across a stream which was very stony, rested and ate marks amazing flapjacks in the bothy. Then followed the treacherous cliff path to Elgol. Total 1,240 ft elevation and pretty hardcore hiking. Amazing day.
