Notes:-St Mawes coast walk with Sarah. Amazing few days in Falmouth. Lovely house located in the town. House was an old bakery and they had retained some of the features such as the bread oven door. Perfect location above the town where we did lots of shopping. The curse of my derailed career was broken on Friday. Got the NHSE job after a flawless interview. Did the interview in the kitchen of the house in Penzance, luckily the internet was really good. Felt well prepared and confident. Used lots of examples from test and trace and my previous NHSE roles. Horizon scanning work and OD innovator offer work also seemed to be relevant. Got the call later in the day from Sarah Needham after we got back from a day in Penzance. Nearly missed the call as my phone rang as I was unpacking the car in a howling gale. This was such a relief and an end to the horrible, confidence draining experience of the past few years. This is a crucial role in an exciting and major innovation programme for the NHS. It’s not some two bit setup, all talk, no influence and no action setup. Feel somewhat vindicated. Its a permanent role which should put me back roughly around the same pay I left on. Feel like I need to learn from the past 4 years, shape the role and focus on personal development. I let Christina know and she said they had been trying to reach out to the programme but had not managed to engage. Also when I contacted Charlie about references she said the AHSNs were doing some work with the programme. I need to proceed with caution when engaging, Im sure my work will need to have a razor sharp focus. Best of all this means that we have held onto most of my redundancy. More fun stuff we can do as a family.
