Notes:-Walk through birmingham to see Ade Edmondson at symphony hall with Sarah. Brilliant night seeing one of our comedy heros. Some great insights into the shows we loved from the 1980s and 90s. Quite sad with his reflections on Rik Mayall as his best friend and the difficult time Ade had trying to branch out into acting. Otherwise rather a quiet week. Had aimed to go out on the bike yesterday as the weather was stunning. Opted to try and tackle the windscreen rust repairs on the van. I gingerly removed the rust bubbles from the pillars and bottom half of the screen. I also tackled the worst of the lower lip of the front end. There were some small holes and evidence of past filler repairs, lots of pitting in the metal but mostly repairable. I had thought that the rust on the pillars was a result of a bodged fitting of a new front end. However it looks like the front is origional as I couldnt see any welded joints. Applied Krust to the rusted metal which did its job to stabalise the rust, then applied a rust supressing primer. It needs more finishing and light filler, plus I still need to get the pain matched. My thinking is at least this will stop the rust over the winter. It needs welding so I think my approach will be to do more GRP and filler repairs over next year to minimise further damage and keep it tidy for next summer. Maybe next autumn we can get the welding done. Need to get Lee to look at urgent welding underneath. Also need to think about electronic ignition, all spring ans summer the engine has run really well with no stalling. Keen to see what happens as the temp drops. Things also seem quiet on the Mum front. Ring cameras show a strange but consistent pattern of Mum leaving the house for short periods of time. Think she is looking for Mark some of the times. Its providing some reassurance, just hope Mum doent unplug the internet and the camera batteries last between me being able to recharge them. Also good to see Harry is much happier, back to his usual self and seems to have settled into A levels. Tom also seems to be settled in at University. I am still in a strange limbo with my new job, still no start date....
