Notes:-Much drier day today after storm Babet passed over. Garden flooded yesterday but not as bad a previous years. Had to knock a piece of the decorative edging off by the summer house to allow the water to flow into the soakaway by the back fence. Water didnt get into the summer house. Veg area stayed out of the flow so the defences I put in a year or so back seem to have worked. Worryingly the water was flowing from under the flags suggesting the sewer pipe is damaged. Called Severn Trent but they didnt bother to send anyone out. Quiet day for me as Sarah is in Birmingham with Rochelle and Harry is at work. Needed to stretch the legs after shopping this morning and a full day of clearing my office and housework yesterday. Canal was very wet and the flooding was worse than I have seen for a few years. Decided to leave the canal at polesworth and walk back along the road. Nice 5 mile route which I may do again. Also added is the dog walk with Simba. Fingers crossed we should be on Skye this time next week.
