Notes:-Logged 1 mile just to note this awful mental week. Mum had another stroke on Sunday 14th. I was up last Friday and came home Saturday as we were looking at another potential care home. Bought mum a lovely arbour seat from the garden centre so she could sit outside when the weather improves. Mum had the stroke on Sunday whilst walking with Fran and Mark. She wasnt 100 percent when we left her on Saturday. Mark took mum to hospital in the ambulance and Sis came over from Newcastle with Dave. Sis kept me informed during Sunday night. They kept mum in and admitted her which was a sign that this was worse than previous TIAs. I hung back to see what was happening on Monday morning, if she was just going to be discharged home than I would have driven up after work. I called the hospital around 9 and they said to call back in 1 hour, which was a bit unexpected but assumed they were busy. Sis called me shortly after to say the police had called to notify her Mum had absconded from the hospital… I just packed up and jumped in the car. Tom was wanting me to pick him up but said wait until I get there and Sarah will get him if Mum isnt found. As I was driving up Sis called to say Mum had been found by Sheep mount which is over 1 mile from the hospital. Got to the hospital and mum was really dizzy and confused. Saw her clothes and they were covered in mud. She had obviously fallen. Both sis and I had dissuasions with consultants on mums discharge, the consultant on the general ward seemed to be moving towards discharging mum home. He spoke to mum and she did her usual responses and desperate her obvious confusion and dizziness he seemed to be suggesting sending her home. I had a conversation out or ear shot and filled him in, he also wasnt aware of mum absconding. Mum then moved onto a general ward then on Tuesday morning they moved mum onto an amazing dementia ward. The nurses made a dog bed for her toy animals out of a cardboard box and leads out of lanyards. I was really moved by their care and support. Visited mum a couple of times before heading home on Wednesday night. Also cleaned Knuckleskuds , did a tip run with old bedding and tried to make it as clean and secure as possible. Sis came up Wednesday night and stayed, taking Casper with her on visits. Jason also went to visit and I kept him informed. Lots of stressful discusions about what happens next - Sis and Fran think they can get mum into Lanercost House but hey dont understand that there is a process for brokering mums discharde into a P2 assessment bed. They still dont seem to understand the process and that its most likely mum will go to a residental bed for assessment and not one we prefer and then onto a permanent place and that there may be a funding gap which will need to be found by us or the sale of Knuckleskuds. There was a discussion on tuesday night about splitting the house into two properties and Fran having half. Or getting outline planing permission to split which would increase the value. I have a really bad feeling about this... Whatever happens I cant see how we can keep Knuckleskuds, it cant be rented without major works. Its also not right that mum continues to pay the bills for its upkeep. I fear that there is a plan to allow Fran to move due to her financial problems. I found a couple of books and a file folder in the loft with notes from Mum keeping lists of what mum has lent to Fran, also a book with a cluster of cach machine recipts from April and May last year...At least we all agree that she cant go home. I am also relieved that she cant be financialy exploited anymore, I cancelled her cards at the Cumberland, also noticed her purse was totally empty. If the plan is to allow Fran to move in I may not be able to do anymore other than cancel all direct debits mum is paying for the house to protect her from that crap. On thursday Sas and I went to see Drop the Dead Donkey at the Alexandria which was a blast from the past. On Friay we went to see Peter Kay at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham which ended in disaster. We had VIP tickets which included food, Sas ate something which contained Gluten or lactose and was violently ill during the second half of the show. Took 2 hours to get home with sas being sick out of the car. Ended up calling 111 to get some help. eventially GP came at 2am. Never doing VIP again, you should be assured the food is safe.. Now feeling totally drained emotionally. Heading back up to Brampton tomorrow to god knows what next week..
