Notes:-Ashby Steam with Sas. Estimated miles and time, probably did more. Headed to Ashby on Friday teatime to meet Dave and Phil. Dave had his US truck and we debated where to park up as there were a load of caravans hogging much of the space in the commercial area. We were also right next to the fairground organ which was going to get noisy. Decided we wouldnt fit together in that area so I found a nice spot in the campervan area. No other T2s on site but a couple of old Bedford vans. Sas came later with Rachel. Friday night was a bit chilly but on sat morning Rachel and Dave had made room for us on their spot by moving the trucks and a caravan around. We squeezed in at the back. Had a brilliant time, even got a ride in Steves Volvo F10 around the show ground. Dave gave me a ride back in his 1986 Peterbilt truck which was one of the main attractions. Spud also came over on saturday and we had a few drinks and a catch up. Lovely to see him. Sat and sun were really hot, battery on the van gave out on sat due to the fridge so we need to get a leadure battery or a solar charge solution as we really needed the cooler. Phil gave me a jump start before we left on sunday. First weekend I think I havent felt strssed and down for a long time. Also to note we soft launched the NHP Innovation Grant on Friday so a small win for me. Would never have guessed this time last year I woudl be doing that. It was around this time last year I applied for the job. Also to note hayfever is probably at its worst but actually not too bad due to the crap weather this June.
