Notes:-Awesome ride from Edale up Mam Tor then down Winnats Pass. Drove up first thing and got to Newfold Farm campsite about 11am. Lovely drive in Bella taking in the hills no problem. No stalling due to heat or inconsistent sticky gear changes. Clutch adjustment seems to have sorted that out. Smoky smell from the heater also seems to have cleared so assuming that was just years of crap in the system. So a joyful drive of just over 80 miles. Wasnt sure if I was going to do the bike ride as I was worried about heat and knew the climb up Mam Tor might be too much for me right now. As they let me onsite early I decided to set up the camp and see how I felt. Got set up and decided I needed to give it a go and would just regret it if I didnt do it. Ride out if Edale village was an easy down hill. The pain starts quite quickly out of Barber Booth with a sudden long climb. I had to stop a couple of times and walked a small section which probably wasnt the steepest bit. Ground out to the top where you pass under Mam Tor and then down the Winnats pass which was spectacular. The road then goes through Hope and back to Edale. Could probably do the climb in one go with a bit more training. Just loved this ride and could make a longer route in future. Eds arrived around 7 and we had a fantastic night drinking beer and catching up.
