Notes:-Loch Trool with Sarah and Mark. Drove up yesterday after dropping Sas and Roche off at East Midlands Airport. They were heading off to Malaga in Spain for Roches 50th. Dropped them off just before 6am then drove up to Newcastle to pick up Sarah. Got to Newcastle around 9.30 so not bad timing. We then headed to get Mark from Brampton before heading to Newton Stuart. Got to the town around 1pm and had a good mooch around. On the drive up Sarah had a call from the hospital to say she had been selected for a clincial trial which was amazing news. Headed to Penninghame Estate where we were staying in the Gardeners House. Beautiful house and gardens, had a good look around the grounds. Then today we headed to the old Caldons Campsite at Loch Trool. It was even more stunning than I remember it. Blue skies, warm sun the green and rustic colours of the forest and hills, and no midges lol. We walked to the Martyrs Tomb and around the campsite and loch side walk. We found where we used to have the caravan by the loch side. Bit hard to find but using the old movie film clip we did succeed. Just such a magical place with so many memories for us. I think Sarah remembered less, possibly due to her not going back and being younger. We then headed to the Bruces Stone before spending the afternoon in Newton Stuart where Sarah and Mark bough a few bits from the shops. In the evening we had a few drinks in the walled garden.
