Notes:-Very cold last ride of 2020. Lets hope 2021 is less crap.... Didnt quite hit my 1500 ambition at the beginning of the year. Revised target to 1200 which I nearly hit. Quite hard going with the cold, new gloves work well just need something for my feet. Lovely blue skies and pretty quiet on the roads. Would normally be welcoming the Edwards today but Covid has put paid to that. We moved into tier 4 today which is almost full lockdown. Missed seeing Mum, Mark and Sarah and the family but hopefully we can see them in the new year. Its been an astonishingly bad year with Covid and the impact on the family, especially the boys and their education. Also Sarahs health hasnt been great and we spend most of the latter months of the year worrying she had bowel cancer. Luckily it was all clear but still, like most of her health conditions doesnt seem to be any proper diagnosis or treatment. Also Mums dementia diagnosis was a blow and Covid has made it much harder to support her. My career has gone up shit creek and I dont have a clear view on my future. Part of me hopes to get redundancy and get out of the AHSN and some time to think about what I want to do. Despite my career problems I am proud of the work I have done for test and trace, it has been an amazing opportunity to do something really critical and beneficial to the NHS. It has burned me out though. I hope that 2021 is better and I can look back at this message 12 months from now in happier times. Off to get drunk now...
