Notes:-Lovely canal walk with Tom and Simba after work. Had feedback on the Head of role on Friday. Didnt get the job which I was fully prepared for. Tony said where I struggled in the COO role was leading a big and challenging team. Tony admitted it was a fit issue not an ability one. My Test and Trace work and NHSE national work showed that I deliver complex programmes and he said they felt that I was underselling myself with this role. I explained I needed to look at all options especially given that I didnt get the MTFM role. They felt that I came across as a bit of a lone wolf and for this role needed to focus on developing the team. On reflection I think this makes more sense they are less interested in specific knowledge and people who have delivered programmes of work but more in team management, monitoring and performance. These are elements of work which dont fit well with my skills and interests. They all agreed that I need to aim for higher roles which are less about managing teams and performance but more delivery and strategy focussed. Tony will speak to Mike Burrows and Garry Ford about more of the national roles which are emerging from the new central AHSN office. So felt pretty crap over the weekend as this was my only chance to stay in the AHSN. I had a morning meeting with Tony and he went over the next steps following the consultation. They have put me on paid leave after this week until the end of my notice period so I am actually on the path to full redundancy. Was a little surprised they wanted me to step down so quickly but that suits me. I can look for jobs which I actually want and hone my CV. I suspect any new AHSN roles wont appoint until later in June. So six weeks gardening leave. I think its time to focus less on work and more on the family and get out on the bike. Need to regain my mojo. Also had second Pfizer jab on Saturday
