Notes:-Saturday morning walk to Warton while Harry was at guitar. Just missed the rain which has been tipping down all last week. Too wet to ride safely so did not get out after the Market Bosworth ride. Had a call with Tony on Thursday, he is suggesting I slot into a new national AHSN role leading the triage of innovations entering the innovation service. Was a bit of a shock but he wants to use some of the underspend to support the national programme. So this role would be WMAHSNs offer of support. Its an 8D but I would be on protection for 2 years, its also fixed term. Its very similar to the work I was doing at NHSE on Exchange. I had conceded to redundancy which makes this a bit difficult. I dont have the same level of energy or enthusiasm and a big part of me is saying no.... Im worried that this is a hiding to nothing and NHSE is passing the innovation front door to AHSNs who dont have the resources or mandate in many cases to deliver new stuff into the NHS. But my sensible side is saying it is an opportunity and an area where I have knowledge and insight. Got a meeting on Monday with Tony to discuss writing a JD. I think this may have always been his plan. I would map to the role so no external application or interview. NHSE need to agree the proposal but UHB have agreed the role. So it may not come off but seems likely. They can extend my termination date if needed. Lets see what happens on Monday....
