Notes:-Conkers campsite, Moira Furnace to Conkers park and back. Up at the campsite for our first test camp with the van. Drove up Friday after work with Sarah, Harry and Simba. Sarah drove the Kia so we could use it for trips out. Tom working at the weekend so he stayed home. Conkers is only 15 miles from home and we figured we could drop back home if we needed anything. Also didnt want to go too far in the van with its leaking main seal- Lee could not fix it last week as he got covid. Set up the big tent and got the van set up. Friday evening was too cold for Sarah as the electric hook up cable for the van was too short so only solution was to run an extension lead from the tent hook up unit through the passenger quarter light to power the heater in the van. It was a bit too drafty for Sarah so she headed home for the night. Harry manned it out in the tent with Simba. Bit too cold even fur Harry. Rain and freezing wind all night amazingly the pop top did not leak. Bed was very comfy but even with the heater it was cold. Spent Saturday morning reshuffling the tent as the site staff said we had booked an awning rather than a separate tent. Went for a walk around Overseal then Sarah arrived with fish and chips and a 25m hook up lead. Had a great night with Sarah and Harry. Saturday night was still too cold for Harry and Simba had also had enough and started barking at 2am. He ended up in the van with us. Sarah, Harry and Simba went home on Sunday afternoon and I decided to stay. Did this walk plus chilled in the van listening to music and reading my book. Great weekend, learned a lot.
